Janet's proposals for the National Career Development Association have been accepted. She presented (a session and a roundtable) at the conference in July in Boston.
Janet presented three roundtables on the Ability Explorer and a presentation on Realistic Career Decision Making in the 21st Century at the Mid-Atlantic Career Counseling Association conference 5-7 December 2012 in Lancaster, PA. She will be presenting at the 2013 conference
Janet Wall received the Mid-Atlantic Career Counselors Professional Contributions Award for work on the Career Development Facilitator Program.
Janet Wall and Celeste Hall taught the CDF program in Norfolk, VA. The site location is Old Dominion University. This will be followed by a program in Richmond in January 2013. Another session is planned for the spring on 2014 in Richmond.
On March 24, 2012, Janet received the Carl Perkins Government Relations Award from the American Counseling Association at the annual conference in San Francisco. Details here.
Janet will be presenting at the Virginia Career Development Association Conference on 20 April in Pertersberg, VA. The presentation topic is IT Tools for the Technologically Timid.
Janet has organized a Professional Development Institute on technology tools for beginners for the National Career Development Association's national conference in Atlanta held on the morning of June 20, 2012. She delivered a tools session at the Boston conference in 2013.
NCDA Roundtable: Using Abilities to Find Fulfilling Career Pathways -- Conference Presentation in Atlanta.
This presentation and demonstration reviewed the use of abilities in the career development process. Participants had the opportunity to complete the newly revised Ability Explorer which links 12 abilities to hundreds of bright outlook occupations. Occupations are coded to several factors such as STEM and education level.
Janet just received the 2012 Innovative Use of Technology Award from the Maryland Career Development Association.
